IN SILVA is an artistic installation that explores the vital connection between the plant world and the survival of the planet, emphasizing the importance of caring for natural heritage. The work abstractly yet tangibly represents an actual area near Bologna, recently reforested, used here as a starting point for reflection on the relationship between nature and society.

Native plant specimens from the site were collected, taxonomically classified, and then encased in resin to preserve them as valuable artifacts. The installation, made up of 24 independent pieces, recreates the topography of the original site and conveys both the fragility and the significance of ecological balance, fostering environmental awareness through a tactile and evocative experience.

The resin’s catalytic components were specially formulated in collaboration with Mapei to allow the natural specimens to interact dynamically  during the curing process, to manifest the interplay and synergy between thought, craftsmanship, and the environment.
