#SENTIMASH is an interactive installation that reacts emotionally to the messages you send it.
The API was specifically designed to detect the “intended” emotions in tweets by capturing “emblematic” words. Once the system receives an input text containing #Sentimash, the human face projected onto a globular plaster sculpture transforms, adopting the corresponding facial expression and revealing an instantaneous, “acute” emotion that adapts— in a completely approximate and rationalized way —to the statement.
This work is a critique of the way we seek answers in technology and data analysis, even when we are searching for an emotional response.
