INFO
Augmented Architecture is an installation created in collaboration with Cino Zucchi Architetti to communicate the Mapei brand on the occasion of FuoriSalone 2021.
The installation consists of a distorted reproduction of the upper portion of a portal in the historical Richini’s courtyard of the University of Milan. The work was developed through a digital scan of the moldings and sculptural details of the original architectural element, which were then digitally extruded exponentially along the horizontal axis and then sculpted using advanced production technologies.
An element of Milan’s architectural history is transformed into a contemporary form, conveying the client brand’s commitment to the creation and preservation of the human and natural environment, and emphasizing the concepts of durability, restoration, and sustainability.
